Enjoy tastings, tour the grounds, and discover the unique flavors of this region, world renowned for being home to Geisha coffee, the most sought-after coffee in the world.
Enjoy the delicious tradition of eating strawberries with cream in Boquete. Visit a local farm and try freshly picked strawberries topped with fresh cream. You can also find them at small stalls around town. The recipes are becoming increasingly creative and include other ingredients, but the traditional version is infallible.
It's time to explore the mountains of Boquete, and there's no better way to start than with The Lost Waterfalls. A trail in the Los Naranjos community that takes you to 3 hidden waterfalls uphill in the jungle. The challenge begins from the entrance with a steep climb, which takes you to a payment booth surrounded by cabins and hydrangeas. What follows is to get your heart racing and your legs trained. There are some parts of the trail that are almost walls that you have to climb using your hands and leaning on ropes. Your reward will be a first-hand encounter with nature and life in every corner.
End the day at Boquete Brewing Company, where you can sample a variety of local craft beers. Here you will get a first taste of Boquete's urban charm, with live music on weekends, food trucks and a variety of draft beers to sample. Want to make friends in town? This is a great place to start.
Experience the thrill of zip lining at Finca El Oasis as you glide through the forest. This resort offers accommodation options, but also day passes for those who just want to enjoy the activities. In addition to having hiking options suitable for all physical conditions, they have a delicious restaurant and an interactive tour with what they call "the most famous sheep in Boquete". It is the perfect combination of adrenaline and connection with nature, in one of the farms located at the highest altitude in the country.
Visit the El Tatica Waterfall, a hidden gem 20 minutes by car from the center of Boquete. From the entrance sign to the waterfall, you will walk for a few minutes along a steep but paved road that passes through a farm with sheep and horses.Soon you will enter a microclimate where the green is almost fluorescent and the temperature drops. The humidity is a sign that you will soon have in front of you a temperate waterfall that gives life to the jungle. In front of it you will find a wooden bench, designed to admire the imposing nature that surrounds you.
Explore the Pipeline Trail, a trail in the Bajo Mono area known for its abundance of birds where, if you are lucky, you may even see pairs of quetzals. This path is one of the friendliest in Boquete, as it can be done during the rainy season without risk and has no steep climbs. With a length of 6 km round trip, the Pipeline Trail follows a stream that borders one of the local mountains, becoming an experience full of life in the company of howler monkeys and ancient trees.
Challenge your skills with a climbing session at Los Ladrillos, a natural rock formation on the side of the road, less than 20 minutes from the center of Boquete. The Boquete Rock Climbing School team is responsible for offering the experience,perfect for both beginners and experienced climbers. The impressive wall is made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock,which indicates that this formation took place during the eruption of Volcan Baru.
No visit to Boquete is complete without experiencing the Tuesday Market, an iconic initiative of the town. It is not only an ideal place to buy local products, handicrafts, organic vegetables and enjoy international and regional cuisine, but it is also the meeting point for the community. Stroll through the Parque de la Biblioteca and, if it's the season (January), enjoy a night at the Boquete Flower and Coffee Festival, full of culture, music and activities for the whole family.
Boquete is a town through which several rivers of crystal-clear and fresh water flow down from the mountain with great force, making the area an incredible destination for rafting. Here you will find options for all levels of difficulty and experience. If you are a beginner, don't worry, there is a place for you. The tour offerings cover 6 rivers: Chiriqui Viejo,Chiriqui, Majagua, Gariche, Fonseca and Caldera. The first is one of the best known in the region.
End the day with a gourmet dinner at one of the most famous fine dining restaurants not only in Boquete, but in the country.Tach, located in Hotel Panamonte, was created by chef Charlie Collins, who interprets Panamanian cuisine with local ingredients. Collins, one of Panama's leading culinary anthropologists, is the author of three books that explain the country's history through its recipes. It is a perfect evening to end the day on a high note.
Before moving from the town of Boquete to the beach area, take one last hike to Piedra del Lino, a trail with impressive views of the Boquete valley. Enjoy the fresh air and the natural scenery as you venture along this beautiful trail, which will not demand too much of your physical condition.
End your trip to Boquete with an outdoor activity by roasting s'mores at the well-known restaurant The Rock, a classic in the town where you can also enjoy a pleasant atmosphere with live music.
