Located inside the crater of an extinct volcano, El Valle de Anton is a charming mountain town where the cool climate, nature, and relaxed pace invite visitors to stay for several days.
Its streets are easy to explore on foot or by bicycle and connect visitors to cafes, restaurants, gardens, hiking trails, and the famous Handicrafts Market, a gathering place where locals and visitors can shop for Panamanian handicrafts, flowers, fruits, fresh vegetables, and regional products.
Although it is a small town, El Valle offers a surprisingly wide range of accommodations. You can find everything from mountain-view cabins and spacious villas to hostels for backpackers and digital nomads, as well as family-friendly hotels with recreational areas.

By Car
If you are in Panama City, take the Inter-American Highway and in less than three hours you will arrive in El Valle. Watch for the turnoff at the town of Las Uvas, where you will need to turn right and drive about 45 minutes up the mountain to your chosen accommodation.
By Bus
If you prefer public transportation, head to Albrook Bus Terminal. From there, you can take one of the daily buses traveling to Cocle Province. Once there, you can connect with local transportation that will take you into El Valle de Anton.
