In 2024, the World Tourism Organization awarded El Valle de Anton as part of its Best Tourism Villages initiative. This honor recognizes the natural and cultural beauty of outstanding destinations, as well as an interest in keeping them alive through sustainable tourism.
Enjoy your stay in a cozy boutique hotel, a rental house or a campsite with different offers included.
El Valle de Anton has a pleasant temperate climate. You can walk along its streets and admire its gardens. You can also rent a regular or electric bike and explore all its corners.
This charming village, surrounded by mountains, is an ideal destination for hikers. Dare to travel the 30 km (18.6 miles) of the Ruta de la Caldera or one of its sections: El Cara Iguana, La Silla, La India Dormida —the most iconic— or one of the highest: El Gaital, which exceeds 1,000 meters (3,281 feet) above sea level.
Add adventure to your visit and try ziplining, rappelling, or cycling on a downhill track.
El Valle de Anton is undoubtedly a destination for nature lovers, being one of the few homes of the mythical golden frog and having more than 300 species of birds. Visit a butterfly garden, a petting farm, and a serpentarium. Visit the orchid garden, the nursery, and make a stop at the market to buy organic produce or handmade crafts.
Find a wide variety of cuisine. European migrants who fell in love with our mountains, now captivate us with their Spanish, Italian and other dishes.
Here you can also have gastronomic experiences sitting at the table of renowned chefs, or trying authentic Panamanian dishes in food stalls, markets, cafés and bakeries.
