El Valle de Anton

Visit El Valle de Anton, a picturesque village in the middle of the crater of an inactive volcano. A fertile land, rich in biodiversity and full of adventures on the green side of the Riviera Pacifica, in the province of Cocle.

In 2024, the World Tourism Organization awarded El Valle de Anton as part of its Best Tourism Villages initiative. This honor recognizes the natural and cultural beauty of outstanding destinations, as well as an interest in keeping them alive through sustainable tourism.

What to do

El Valle de Anton has a pleasant temperate climate. You can walk along its streets and admire its gardens. You can also rent a regular or electric bike and explore all its corners.

This charming village, surrounded by mountains, is an ideal destination for hikers. Dare to travel the 30 km (18.6 miles) of the Ruta de la Caldera or one of its sections: El Cara Iguana, La Silla, La India Dormida —the most iconic— or one of the highest: El Gaital, which exceeds 1,000 meters (3,281 feet) above sea level.

Add adventure to your visit and try ziplining, rappelling, or cycling on a downhill track.
