How to Get to Boquete

There are several ways to get to Boquete depending on your budget and the time you have.

By Car

Head west on the Inter-American Highway from Panama City. The trip takes about 6–7 hours. Drive until you reach David, the capital of Chiriqui Province. From David, take the turnoff to head north; in 45–50 minutes, you’ll arrive in Bajo Boquete. The route is safe and well-marked.

By Bus

If you prefer public transport, direct buses to David run frequently from the Albrook Bus Terminal. The journey takes between 7 and 8 hours. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in David, you can take a local bus or taxi to Boquete. This final leg takes about an hour.

By Plane

The most convenient option is to take a domestic flight from Tocumen International Airport or Marcos A. Gelabert Airport, in Albrook, to Enrique Malek International Airport, in David. The flight takes just 50 minutes. When you land in David, you can rent a car or hire a private transfer service to take you directly to your hotel in Boquete.
