Event details

A people's cultural expressions are intimately linked to their environment. In Panamá, the identity and culture of indigenous peoples are related to the bodies of water in their geography, where language, sound, and body express the connection to the territory. Poetry, which arises from nature, is fundamental to their physical and spiritual relationship with the world. This exhibition, the result of a collective curatorship with indigenous poets and artists, presents words, sounds, movements, ritual gestures, and objects that dialogue with works in the museum. This exhibition explores the forms of creation and communication of the Guna, Emberá, Emberá-Wounaan, and Ngöbe-Buglé peoples, highlighting the connection between culture, spirituality, and nature, and the transformative essence of the poetic.
